We are seeking hardworking and reliable Laborers to join our growing team. Prior concrete restoration experience is a plus — but we will train the right candidates!
Position Overview:
As a Laborer 1, you will perform hands-on work to support concrete restoration and structural repair projects. Tasks include chipping, grinding, demo, surface prep, waterproofing, coatings, material mixing, and general jobsite cleanup.
This is a physical, fast-paced, and rewarding role — ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, learning new skills, and being part of a team that takes pride in quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform manual labor on concrete restoration job sites (parking garages, balconies, stadiums, plazas, commercial structures)
Operate hand and power tools (jackhammers, grinders, saws, drills, chipping guns, etc.)
Assist with demolition, surface preparation, coatings, waterproofing, and material installation
Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
Work as part of a team under the direction of Foreman/Superintendent
Maintain clean and organized job sites
Assist in loading/unloading tools, equipment, and materials
Travel to out-of-state projects as required (company-provided travel and lodging)
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
1+ years of construction experience preferred (concrete restoration a plus — but will train motivated individuals)
Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions and on elevated structures
Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
Basic knowledge of construction hand and power tools
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Willingness to travel (Gutknecht operates in 13 states — travel and lodging covered for out-of-state work)
Reliable transportation to local shop or job sites
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dependability
Commitment to safety first
Preferred (but not required):
Experience in concrete restoration, waterproofing, or structural repair
OSHA 10 Certification or higher
Experience working on parking garages or multi-level structures

Commitment to working safely and following OSHA and company safety protocols
Reliable transportation to job sites (local and out-of-state — travel and lodging provided for out-of-state work)
Willingness to travel for projects across multi-state territories (Gutknecht is licensed in 13 states)
Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from Foreman and Superintendent
Positive attitude, good work ethic, and dependability
Preferred (but not required):
Experience in concrete restoration, waterproofing, or structural repair
OSHA 10 Certification or higher
Experience working on parking garages or multi-level structures
